Breast Feeding and Pregnancy
Breast Feeding and Pregnancy
Breast feeding or more precisely, active breastfeeding encourage a number of hormones which in turn slow down ovulation of the body. This explains how breast feeding and pregnancy are linked. Now there are a number of conditions which apply if you want this to really work, and these are:
The breastfeeding should be around the clock; this means that the baby does not have the formula milk as a choice. In the possibility when the mother has to go out for an extensive period, she generally pumps out milk and leaves it for the baby. Watch distantly your menstrual cycle; the instant you see any kind of spotting, it means that your fertility has come back so, seek doctor’s advice. As long as you breastfeed constantly, say, for about three to six months, the contraceptive quality of process is certain. As a matter of fact, as soon as the baby is weaned, even a little, the body senses it and then releases the eggs for ovulation.
Many mothers disrupt feeding during the night, particularly because the baby does not get up in the night and hence, the mother does not think it is essential. It may indeed not be so. But, the body senses the gap and then releases the egg. Once the egg is released, the body’s fertility circle starts again. It is vital – as you see, that the breast feeding and pregnancy be understood carefully if it is to be used as a contraceptive method. In case you believe you are covered and safe and the technique fails; it would be because you have not understood well, nor practiced it well.
In winding up, breast feeding and pregnancy are certainly inter-related and that means that one’s routine is reliant on the other. In this case, pregnancy can be the consequence of irregular breastfeeding – hence, if you started weaning your baby, you should visit the physician and ask some alternative contraceptive.
